Grandmaster Zac and Lanai

I came across this photo of Zac and Lanai, just after she returned from winning the US Open Martial Arts Tournament in 2005.
Congratulations to you both, for your commitment to the arts and each other.

The Question

Below are 2 videos of a Shaolin Hong Quan form.
One gentleman is performing the form at a slow/medium pace.
The other gentleman is performing the form fast, with whip like movements.
If you visit www.youtube.com ,
Xiao Hong Quan
Shao Hong Quan
you will see people commenting about how this form should be performed.
Is there a proper way?
How should I practice this form?

Shaolin Dahong Quan

This is another video I found.
This form has some interesting movements and postures.
I like the low scooping step.
Notice the last posture, Kung Lek Quan ends the same too.
Nice form.

Great News!!!

Lanai Schroeder has been named the 46th Ken McDonald Memorial-Manning River Times Sportstar of the Year for 2005!!!
With Grandmaster Zac Walters coaching, Lanai won her traditional forms at the ISKA World Cup in Sydney 2005.
Earlier in the year, Lanai won the ISKA US Open title.
She has also competed and won various State and National ISKA events.

Awesome work Lanai!!!!!

Not only have you won Sportstar of the Year, you have raised the profile of martial arts in the Manning region, higher than anyone else has before.

Congratulations from Grandmaster Zac and all your training partners in Taree.

Zac Walters and Les Hannos

Two grandmasters of the martial arts pictured here. Zac and Les Hannos, one of the founding fathers of Karate in Australia.
There is probably over 100 years of martial arts experience between these two gentlemen. If you get a chance to train with either of them, do so.

Zac and Lanai

Heres a pic of Zac and Lanai. Lanai went to the U.S Open in July 2005 and won!!!
I think this picture was taken when she had returned to Australia.
Lanai trains in the Chang Chuan forms and is learning a Nan Chuan form.
Lanai will also be going to the 2006 World Cup on the Gold Coast this year...
(I hope she doesn't read about it here first..)
She won a number of other ISKA (International Sports Karate Association) events and I will detail them at a later date.
I did have them written down somewhere but...who uses paper these days? Not me...

Welcome
